We are living in divisive times, and we can see this division being played out right before our very eyes. And you know why? Because, no matter the topic, we tend to default to a place of defensive communication, as opposed to leaning into curiosity and feelings.

Many of us find ourselves walking away from an intense conversation feeling the same way about the situation as the storyteller. We feel their disappointment or frustration. But why is it that we don't do the same when they share their excitement or appreciation?

They say that love should be easy, but that’s a myth. The truth is, love is all about CHOICES, and the choice to love on a daily basis isn’t always easy. At the most basic level, you have the choice to stay or leave, but to stay often means choosing to set boundaries, push the envelope, hold strong, and so on.

All couples fight, regardless of how great their partnership is. From who’s in charge of the dishes to what the right college is for the kids, being with a partner long-term means having a say, and trying to do it the right way!

I’ll be the first to admit that I am the type of girl that likes to bury my pasta in parmesan cheese, so I always get a bit angsty when the waiter walks up with the grater and utters the dreaded line of “just say when.”

When you are feeling jealous over something, it's time to check in and see what you are feeling insecure about. Jealousy and insecurity prove to be toxic partners time and time again. 

If I were to ask you what "role-playing” means and the only thought that comes to mind is leather harnesses and a nurse-outfit...we have some work to do.
